The Incheon International Airport Corporation (IIAC), a stakeholder in PT Bandara Internasional Batam (BIB), pledges support for the development of Hang Nadim Airport and plans to market Batam as a premier golf destination in South Korea.

Hang Nadim Airport’s shareholders aim to utilize Batam’s robust infrastructure and lifestyle to attract South Korean tourists and investors, particularly targeting the popular sport of golf.

Hag Jae Lee, President & CEO of IIAC, during his visit to Batam, emphasized the corporation’s role in introducing direct flights from South Korea and enhancing airport services to meet regional standards.

Pikri Ilham Kurniansyah, the Director of PT BIB, noted the promotional opportunities presented by Jae Lee’s visit, positioning Batam as a golfing paradise to attract South Korean citizens, for whom golf is a significant part of their lifestyle.

IIAC’s commitment includes collaborating with other shareholders, notably Angkasa Pura I, to maximize the airport’s development and transform it into a gateway for investments.

Kurniansyah also highlighted the economic ecosystem within the airport, showcasing the Batam Aero Technic as the largest aircraft workshop in Indonesia and the new cargo terminal prepared as an e-commerce cargo hub.
