Batam is set to host the 12th National Folding Bike Jamboree (Jamselinas) on November 11, 2023, with 3,000 participants from across Indonesia, highlighting the city’s modernity and cycling-friendly infrastructure.

The Batam Authority Head and Mayor, Muhammad Rudi, has announced the city’s readiness in terms of human resources and facilities to successfully host Jamselinas XII, enhancing Batam’s reputation as a modern and bicycle-friendly city.

The event, spanning four days from November 9-12, 2023, includes an expo at Mega Mall, welcome and gala dinners, and a 31-kilometer cycling route from Engku Putri Square to Nuvasa Bay Nongsa.

Jamselinas XII will feature 135 international cyclists from neighboring countries, including Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, and Thailand, fostering regional camaraderie.

Muhammad Rudi encourages community support for the sport tourism event, anticipated to provide a multi-effect boost to Batam’s local economy.

The event is expected to aid in promoting Batam’s tourism sector and reviving the economy of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Batam’s selection as the host city signifies its safety and conduciveness for national and international events, aiming to maintain peace and comfort.

The participation of neighboring countries, including Singapore, in Jamselinas XII spotlights Batam as a key sport tourism destination, providing an opportunity for regional cyclists and tourists to experience Batam’s modern amenities and cultural offerings.
