BP Batam’s Information System Data Center (PDSI) recently conducted a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) at Aston Batam Hotel, emphasizing the enhancement of governance through the implementation of an Electronic Government System (SPBE).
The FGD, themed “Improving Clean, Effective, Efficient, Transparent, and Accountable Governance through SPBE Implementation,” is part of BP Batam’s ongoing efforts to fulfill its obligations to the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform (PANRB).
Sylvia Malaihollo, Head of PDSI BP Batam, highlighted the FGD as a crucial part of SPBE’s socialization within BP Batam, ensuring comprehensive awareness across all units.
The SPBE initiative integrates all processes within BP Batam into an electronic or IT-based system, marking a significant shift towards digital governance.

Participants of the FGD included both internal and external members of BP Batam, along with representatives from national institutions such as BSSN, BRIN, and the Ministry of PANRB.
Analyst Perwita Sari from the Ministry of PANRB appreciated BP Batam’s progress in policy-making and governance structures, especially concerning the architecture and strategic planning of SPBE.
The FGD’s discussions aimed to utilize the existing architectural and planning framework effectively, enhancing the effectiveness, transparency, and accountability of the SPBE in BP Batam.
BP Batam’s strides in electronic governance signify a more streamlined, efficient, and transparent administrative environment, fostering greater confidence in business and tourism activities within the region.
BP Batam’s FGD, part of its drive towards electronic governance, showcases its commitment to transforming public sector management. Through collaborations with national bodies and expert insights, BP Batam is paving the way for a more efficient, transparent, and accountable government system, aligning with global digital governance trends.
