The Tanjungpinang City Government is gearing up to finalize the incentives for 123 healthcare workers involved in the Covid-19 response, with decisions pending an evaluation from the Provincial Governor of Kepri.
Healthcare workers have been on the frontline in the battle against Covid-19. In Tanjungpinang, 123 of these professionals are awaiting the disbursement of their incentives. While the local government is keen on resolving this, they are currently awaiting the governor’s green light.
Acting Mayor of Tanjungpinang, Hasan, highlighted plans to settle the outstanding incentives from the revised 2023 regional budget. “The plan is to pay from the adjusted budget through BLUD RSUD,” stated Hasan.
However, Hasan emphasized that the final decision remains contingent upon the review and evaluation by Governor Kepri, Ansah Ahmad. “While we wait, preparations have also been made in the 2024 budget to settle this incentive debt,” he added.
Erza Sopia, the Head of Services at RSUD Tanjungpinang, conveyed that proposals for the disbursement of these incentives have been made monthly, following the completion of Covid-19 patient treatments.

Following internal verification and inspectorate review, the list comprises a total of 123 healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, and laboratory technicians. “These pending incentives span from August to December 2022,” Erza revealed.
While the local government remains proactive in ensuring that these professionals receive their dues, the current standstill has brought the importance of these workers into focus and the need to support them adequately.
The promptness and transparency with which the Tanjungpinang City Government addresses these incentives can act as a benchmark for neighboring regions. It underlines the importance placed on healthcare professionals and showcases the administrative responsibility of Indonesian cities, fostering trust in their healthcare system.
Tanjungpinang’s local government is in the final stages of settling overdue incentives for 123 Covid-19 healthcare workers. While they await the governor’s evaluation for final approval, preparations have been made in the city’s upcoming budget, reflecting their commitment to supporting frontliners.
