Batam Ferries Ready for Holiday Season After Docking
batamon-general

In anticipation of the Christmas and New Year holidays, PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry’s Tanjunguban branch has announced the docking of two Roll-on/Roll-off ships serving the Tanjunguban route for routine maintenance.

This docking process is part of annual maintenance to ensure the safety and seaworthiness of the vessels and is strategically timed to prepare for increased travel activity during the holiday season.

KMP Bahtera Nusantara 03, serving routes between Tanjung Uban, Tambelan, and Sintete, will undergo routine repairs.

KMP Bahtera Nusantara 01 operates across multiple routes including Tanjung Uban, Matak, Midai, Penagi/Ranai, Subi, Serasan, and Sintete.

Both ships are scheduled for a docking period of one month, from November 15 to December 15, 2023, with expected operation resumption around December 17 or 18.

The absence of temporary replacement vessels is noted due to the subsidy category of these ships, and the public is advised to seek alternative transportation during this period.

ASDP Tanjunguban solicits the public’s cooperation to ensure a smooth repair process and subsequent re-operation of the ships post-docking.

The docking of key ferry services may affect travel plans for Singaporeans and international tourists visiting the region. Travelers are advised to plan accordingly and explore alternative transport options during the maintenance period.

Two vital ferry vessels in Tanjunguban, KMP Bahtera Nusantara 01 and 03, are set for a month-long docking starting mid-November to ensure readiness for the surge in travel during the Christmas and New Year period, with recommencement of services projected before the peak season.
