US fast-casual giant teams with SPC Group to debut in Asia, starting with Singapore and Seoul

Chipotle Mexican Grill is finally making its Asia debut. The popular US fast-casual chain announced it will open its first outlets in Singapore and South Korea in 2026, bringing its iconic burritos, tacos, and bowls to local diners.

Chipotle Lands in Asia

Founded in California in 1993, Chipotle is known for its customizable burritos, tacos, and bowls made from fresh, responsibly sourced ingredients. With more than 3,800 outlets across the US, Canada, Europe, and the Middle East, the brand has chosen Singapore and South Korea as its launchpads into Asia.

Partnership with SPC Group

Chipotle’s entry is backed by a joint venture with South Korea’s SPC Group, a global F&B powerhouse that operates 7,000 stores worldwide. SPC is no stranger to Singapore, having introduced major international brands like Shake Shack, Paris Baguette, and Eggslut. Executive Vice President Hee-soo Hur called Singapore and South Korea “ideal entry points” due to their strong food culture and appetite for global dining experiences.

What Sets Chipotle Apart

Despite being a fast-casual chain, Chipotle markets itself as a provider of “real food prepared fast.” Its menu is free from artificial colors, flavors, and preservatives, appealing to health-conscious consumers who also want convenience and variety. CEO Scott Boatwright said expanding into Asia offers “an incredible growth opportunity” as dining habits shift toward speed and quality.

Singapore’s Competitive Dining Scene

Chipotle will enter a market already familiar with Mexican-style fast casual dining. Homegrown chain Stuff’d and Australia’s Guzman y Gomez have built loyal followings in Singapore. Taco Bell once attempted to establish a presence but exited in 2008.

More Global Brands Coming

Singapore’s F&B scene is seeing a surge of international entrants. Chick-fil-A is set to open in late 2025, while South Korea’s Lotteria will launch in 2026. With Chipotle joining the lineup, local diners will have more international fast-casual options than ever before.

Chipotle’s 2026 arrival in Singapore and South Korea signals a new phase in Asia’s fast-casual dining landscape. Backed by SPC Group, the brand is poised to compete with established players and meet rising consumer demand for healthier, customizable meals—further cementing Singapore’s reputation as a global food hub.
