Floods continue to affect Batu Pahat and Pontian, with recovery efforts underway.

As of 8 AM today, Johor’s flood victims remain at 909 individuals across 275 families, primarily located in the Batu Pahat and Pontian districts. The disaster management committee is actively overseeing relief efforts to assist those affected.

The number of flood victims in Johor remains steady at 909 individuals from 275 families, according to a recent statement from the State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN). These victims are currently housed in 10 relief centers (PPS) located within Batu Pahat and Pontian districts. As of this morning, authorities report that weather conditions in the region are generally sunny, with the exception of Pontian, which is expected to experience cloudy skies.

Batu Pahat is hosting the majority of the victims, with 619 individuals from 193 families affected. The Pontian district follows, accommodating 290 people from 82 families. These districts have been the hardest hit by the recent floods, which have displaced families and disrupted daily life.

Despite the challenges posed by the floods, JPBN chairman Tan Sri Dr. Azmi Rohani provided an update on the situation, noting that the weather in other parts of Johor has improved. However, the situation in Pontian remains more uncertain due to the persistent cloudy conditions, which could potentially hinder recovery efforts.

Emergency services continue to focus their efforts on stabilizing the situation, with teams working around the clock to ensure the safety and well-being of those in the relief centers. The weather forecast for the next few days will play a key role in the ongoing recovery process, as authorities anticipate improved conditions across most of the state.

In conclusion, while the flood crisis in Johor persists, the authorities are actively managing relief efforts. The situation remains fluid, with the weather playing a significant role in the speed of recovery. The people of Johor are hoping for brighter days ahead as they continue to rebuild.
