Sei Ladi Flyover in Batam Set for December 2024 Inauguration

The Sei Ladi Flyover project in Batam is nearing completion, with 70% of the work already done and an inauguration scheduled for December 2024, promising to improve local traffic conditions by January 2025.

The Sei Ladi Flyover, spanning 120 meters in length and 10.5 meters in width, is designed to connect Sekupang and Batam Center, alleviating the heavy traffic currently experienced in these high-density areas.

Phase one of the project also involves expanding roadways and pedestrian paths from Pura Agung to SMK Kartini, with additional road widening near Baloi and new routes leading to the SPBU Sei Ladi gas station to facilitate smoother vehicular movement.


The second phase, expected to commence in 2025, will extend the road widening efforts from SMK Kartini to Awal Bros Hospital, further enhancing the connectivity and infrastructure resilience of Batam.


Boy Zasmita, Head of the Port and Airport Construction Subdirectorate at BP Batam, emphasized the project’s alignment with multiyear contracts initiated on December 28, 2023, underscoring the government’s commitment to timely and effective urban planning.

BP Batam’s proactive approach includes engaging local communities and ensuring that disruptions are minimized, with traffic flow expected to normalize by January 2025 following the flyover’s inauguration.
