State oil firm ensures steady fuel availability amid Middle East crisis and supply pressures.

Petronas announced on April 15 that fuel supplies at all its stations are secured through the end of June as the company manages its supply chain amid rising global energy tensions from the Middle East conflict.

Supply Assurance Statement
Petronas said on April 15 it has secured fuel stock across its retail network and is actively managing logistics to maintain availability until June 30.

Market Share And Reach
The company noted Petronas Dagangan supplies about 50 percent of Malaysia’s fuel demand, underscoring its central role in national distribution.

Operational Measures
Petronas is adjusting procurement, inventory rotation and transport schedules to cushion stations against international price shocks and delivery disruptions.

Policy Response: Biodiesel Push
Malaysia has pledged to increase biodiesel use as part of a national strategy to ease reliance on constrained global supplies and support domestic energy resilience.

Regional Impact And Outlook
With the Middle East conflict affecting global energy markets, Petronas’ short-term supply assurance aims to prevent local shortages while authorities monitor developments and prepare further contingency measures.

Petronas’ announcement offers short-term reassurance for Malaysian consumers and businesses facing fuel uncertainty, while Indonesians and Singaporeans should note regional supply risks and policy responses—such as biodiesel scaling and logistical safeguards—that may influence cross-border fuel markets and energy cooperation.
