Authorities say no criminal element detected as investigation into hospital death continues
Malaysian police have recorded statements from more than 10 individuals as part of an ongoing investigation into the death of a female trainee doctor found in a hospital hostel room in Kelantan.
Trainee Doctor Found Dead in Hostel Room
A female trainee doctor was discovered dead in a hostel room at Sultan Ismail Petra Hospital in Kuala Krai.
Police said they were alerted to the incident at about 9.55am, prompting officers from the district Criminal Investigation Division and Kuala Krai police station to rush to the scene.
Police Record Statements From Witnesses
Authorities have taken statements from more than 10 individuals to assist in the investigation.
Those interviewed include the victim’s family members, friends and lecturers, according to Kelantan police chief Datuk Mohd Yusoff Mamat.
No Criminal Element Detected So Far
Preliminary investigations have not revealed any signs of foul play.
However, police said inquiries are ongoing as investigators work to determine the exact cause of death.
Case Now Handled by State Police Headquarters
The investigation has been transferred to the Kelantan police contingent headquarters for a more detailed review.
