Weekend-only guided walks spotlight biodiversity, pollinators, and climate awareness in Singapore
Singapore’s iconic Gardens by the Bay is expanding how visitors experience urban nature, with new guided tours designed to deepen understanding of biodiversity, sustainability, and environmental stewardship through immersive, educational walks.
New Guided Tours Debut in 2026
Starting January 2026, Gardens by the Bay is introducing two new weekend-only guided tours that invite visitors to explore the ecological side of one of Singapore’s most visited attractions. Spanning 105 hectares and home to over 1.5 million plants, the garden continues to position itself as both a leisure destination and a living classroom, according to Gardens by the Bay and Travel and Leisure Asia.
Urban Biodiversity Walk Highlights City Wildlife
The Urban Biodiversity Walk allows participants to observe birds and other wildlife using binoculars, offering close-up views from specially selected observation points. Visitors also learn to identify species and contribute to biodiversity monitoring efforts, supporting ongoing conservation work. Open to participants aged 10 and above, the 90-minute tour begins on January 31, 2026, and is held every last Saturday of the month at 8 a.m., meeting at Gardens by the Bay MRT Station, Exit 1.
Understanding Pollinators and Food Systems
The Secret Life of Pollinators tour focuses on the vital roles played by birds, butterflies, and bees in sustaining ecosystems and global food production. Participants explore how urban gardens support pollinator conservation while learning about ecological interdependence. The tour runs every Saturday and Sunday from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., meeting outside the Jurassic Nest Food Hall. Individuals with bee allergies are advised not to participate.
Registration Details and Access
Registration for both new tours opens on January 7, 2026, via the official Gardens by the Bay website. The programs are available for individual and group sign-ups and are conducted exclusively on weekends, making them accessible to families, students, and working professionals seeking meaningful outdoor experiences.
More Nature-Themed Tours Every Weekend
Beyond the two new offerings, Gardens by the Bay continues to host other guided experiences, including the Biodiversity and Ecosystem tour, which explores how plants and animals adapt to different habitats. This tour runs every Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., starting at the Main Arrival Area.
Climate, Carbon, and the Human Impact
Visitors can also join the Carbon and Climate tour, which examines how human activities influence the environment. According to Gardens by the Bay, the tour explains different forms of carbon, their sources, and how ecosystems act as carbon absorbers, while offering practical insights on reducing personal carbon footprints. Another option, the Sensory Path tour, explores how taste and smell connect humans to plants and why plants produce distinct flavors.
By expanding its guided tour offerings, Gardens by the Bay reinforces Singapore’s commitment to sustainability education and urban biodiversity. These programs not only enrich visitor experiences but also promote environmental awareness that resonates across the region, strengthening cross-border appreciation for conservation among Indonesians and Singaporeans alike.
