CBH Engineering to deliver mechanical and electrical works for 132kV station in Johor project

CBH Engineering Holding Bhd (CBHB) has secured a RM31.4 million contract through its wholly-owned subsidiary to provide mechanical and electrical works for a major data centre project in Johor.

Contract Details and Scope

The contract, accepted on August 25, 2025, was awarded by a main contractor whose identity remains confidential under a non-disclosure agreement. CBH Engineering Sdn Bhd will supply, install, test, and commission mechanical and electrical systems for a 132 kilovolt (kV) consumer landing station (CLS) serving the proposed Johor data centre.

Timeline for Completion

Works are scheduled to begin on September 7, 2025, with an expected readiness for energisation on March 10, 2026. CBHB stated that the project will contribute positively to its earnings and net assets over the contract duration.

Growing Portfolio in Data Centres

This marks CBH Engineering’s fourth data centre-related project. In July, the company secured two Selangor-based contracts: one worth RM52.8 million for an electrical supply system and another valued at RM194.7 million for a consumer substation. The Johor contract reinforces its expanding role in Malaysia’s growing data centre infrastructure sector.

Market Performance

CBH Engineering, listed on the ACE Market in January 2025, closed at 36 sen on September 22, down half a sen or 1.5%. The group now holds a market capitalisation of RM677.1 million, with its shares gaining more than 28% since debuting at 28 sen.

No Conflict of Interest

CBHB confirmed that no directors, major shareholders, or related parties hold any interest in the contract. The board emphasised that the project is in line with the company’s ordinary course of business and serves its best interests.

Strategic Impact

As Malaysia continues to attract investment in digital infrastructure, contracts like this underline CBH Engineering’s positioning as a key service provider in mechanical and electrical engineering for large-scale data centre projects.

The RM31.4 million Johor contract not only strengthens CBHB’s project pipeline but also reflects its growing foothold in Malaysia’s booming data centre industry. For regional investors and industry watchers, the company’s consistent wins signal confidence in its capabilities and future growth trajectory.
