Clinic owner accused of three counts of outrage of modesty against 46-year-old woman.

A 74-year-old traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) practitioner has been charged with allegedly molesting a woman in his Yishun clinic on three separate occasions in June 2024.

Charges Filed

The accused, Ho Ked Choong, owner of Sing Wah Medical Hall at Block 780 Yishun Ring Road, faces three charges of outrage of modesty. Court records state that the alleged offences occurred between June 15 and June 21, 2024, against a 46-year-old woman.

Details of Alleged Offences

According to charge sheets, Ho first touched the victim inappropriately on June 15. On June 21, he allegedly repeated the act and later used his tongue to touch her genitals. Court documents did not disclose whether the woman was a patient at the clinic.

Court Proceedings

Ho was formally charged on September 1, 2025 (with reports also citing August 26 for earlier court appearances). His case has been adjourned to September 29, 2025 for further mention.

Legal Penalties

Under Singapore law, each count of outrage of modesty carries a maximum penalty of two years’ jail, a fine, caning, or a combination of punishments. However, due to his age, Ho cannot be sentenced to caning if convicted.

Community Concern

The case has raised public attention in Yishun, where the clinic is located. Outrage of modesty is among the most commonly prosecuted sexual offences in Singapore, with authorities stressing zero tolerance for such crimes, regardless of the offender’s age or status.

The case against 74-year-old TCM practitioner Ho Ked Choong highlights ongoing efforts by Singapore’s judiciary to address sexual misconduct in professional settings. As investigations continue, the outcome will serve as a reminder of the strict legal consequences for offences of outrage of modesty.
