The shocking murder of a 20-year-old university student in Cyberjaya has taken a grim turn as police confirmed her stolen ATM card was used for multiple withdrawals following her death.
Missing Belongings Confirmed
The tragic death of a 20-year-old female Bachelor of Physiotherapy student in Cyberjaya continues to unfold with alarming developments. Authorities revealed that several of the victim’s belongings, including her laptop, mobile phone, ATM card, and cash, were reported missing from her hostel room after her body was found on June 24.
According to Sepang District Police Chief Asst Comm Norhizam Bahaman, the suspect used the victim’s ATM card shortly after the incident. “We detected five to six ATM transactions in the city using her card,” he stated, confirming the suspect’s immediate attempt to access the victim’s finances.
Murder Scene Details
The victim, originally from Kuching, Sarawak, was found unconscious with visible head injuries believed to be inflicted by a blunt object. Her friend, who discovered her body at around 10am at the Mutiara Ville residence, alerted the authorities. No signs of forced entry were found, raising suspicions that the assailant may have been someone the victim knew or trusted.
At the time of the murder, the student was alone in the hostel, as her five housemates had returned home for the semester break on June 21. She remained behind to prepare for an upcoming examination.
Ongoing Investigation and Public Appeal
Investigations are being conducted under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder. Police are currently recording witness statements and reviewing CCTV footage from the area.
