On March 26, 2025, at approximately 4:00 PM, Muhammad Abdullah, the tissue seller, was accosted by ten officials from the Dinsos while conducting his business at Simpang Jam. Abdullah claimed that he was merely trying to make an honest living by selling tissues when the incident took a violent turn.
The altercation left Abdullah with severe injuries, including a head injury, a torn ear, and a dislocated right arm. In his emotional recount, Abdullah stated, “I was just trying to make a living, and yet, they attacked me. This has happened to me not once, but three times before.”

In response to the incident, Adi, the Head of Social Rehabilitation at Dinsos Batam, denied the allegations, claiming that the officials had acted in accordance with standard procedures. He asserted that Abdullah’s injuries were not caused by any violence from their team.
