Investments in port facilities, including a Rp3.6 trillion (~SGD 298.8 million) development at Batu Ampar Terminal, and the launch of direct shipping routes to China and Myanmar boosted container handling efficiency.

Ship visits to Batam totaled 28,961 in 2024, a 3% rise from 2023. Batu Ampar Terminal alone saw a 6% increase, reaching 7,656 ship calls. Non-containerized cargo volumes grew 5%, from 9.2 million tons in 2023 to 9.7 million tons in 2024.

The adoption of the Batam Seaport Information Management System (B-SIMS) and the Batam Terminal Operating System (B-TOS) streamlined operations, reducing delays and enhancing customer experience.
