The alleged abduction involved a 22-year-old Chinese national, and the girl was found in a premises in Kuantan, Pahang. Investigations into the motive and methods are ongoing, with the suspect in custody under a seven-day remand order.
The father, 48, filed a police report on Nov 26 after his daughter failed to appear at her school in Singapore. Acting on intelligence and public tip-offs, police raided a location in Kuantan and rescued the victim, arresting the alleged kidnapper.

Police detained a 22-year-old Chinese national and seized multiple items linked to the abduction, including mobile phones and clothing. The suspect faces charges under the Sexual Offences Against Children Act 2017, which carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and whipping.
Authorities are also investigating the case under Section 48(2) of the Child Act 2001 for concealing a child and Section 361 of the Penal Code for kidnapping from lawful guardianship.
The girl is currently hospitalized for medical observation following her ordeal. Police have refrained from disclosing additional details to protect her privacy and the integrity of the ongoing investigation.
