BP Batam Announces Road Development from Batu Ampar Port to Kampung Seraya to Boost Connectivity

On Tuesday, October 1, 2024, the Batam Industrial Development Authority (BP Batam) presented its plans for a new road linking Batu Ampar Port to Kampung Seraya, aiming to enhance transport connectivity and stimulate economic growth in the region.


The announcement was made during a community meeting at the Batu Ampar Sub-district Office, where Wesly Silalahi, Head of Transportation Planning at BP Batam, outlined the strategic importance of the new road and called for local support to facilitate the upcoming construction.


The proposed road, measuring 3.5 km in length and designed with a 30-meter right-of-way (ROW), aims to connect the Batu Ampar Port directly to residential and business districts in Nagoya and surrounding areas, significantly reducing travel time and fostering economic activities.

Wesly Silalahi emphasized the need for community involvement in the planning phase to ensure that the project meets local needs and expectations. The road’s design includes dual lanes and pedestrian pathways, making it accessible for both vehicular and foot traffic.


The meeting was attended by key local figures, including Batu Ampar Sub-district Head Ridwan NS and representatives from the local military command, police, and community leaders, all of whom expressed their support for the project, recognizing its potential to transform local infrastructure and boost economic development.
