The highest export was recorded in January with 546.06 tons valued at SGD 2.04 million, showcasing the seasonal fluctuations and the sustained demand throughout the first half of 2024.

The total value of fish exports reached SGD 8.86 million by May 2024, underlining the economic significance of this sector to Batam’s local economy.
Singapore remains the principal destination for Batam’s fish exports, where premium prices justify the preference for export over local sales.
Not all catch is exported; selective species like selar and benggol are sold locally in Batam, highlighting a strategic approach to market segmentation.
