The Eid holiday travel period was managed smoothly at Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam, with the airport efficiently handling over 55,000 passengers during the festive season. This year, Batam not only served as a starting point but also as a popular destination for holidaymakers.

During the Eid holiday season, Hang Nadim International Airport in Batam experienced a significant surge in passenger traffic. The peak of the return flow occurred on April 14, 2024, with the airport facilitating the travel of thousands of passengers, showcasing the airport’s capacity and efficiency in managing large volumes of travelers.

The peak return day on April 14 saw 19,648 passengers, with a total of 363 flights operated, demonstrating the airport’s robust handling capabilities during high-traffic periods.

From the day after Eid to four days later, the airport served a total of 55,966 passengers, with arrivals and departures nearly balancing each other out, indicating Batam’s dual role as both a homecoming and a holiday destination.

On the busiest day, 9,677 passengers arrived from outside Batam while 9,971 departed, further emphasizing the balanced flow of traffic at the airport.

Senior Manager Equipment & ICT at Hang Nadim Airport, Sonny Muniaga, reported no significant issues during the holiday period, with only minor passenger congestion quickly resolved.
