ITS Team Clinches Silver at Singapore’s Largest Robot Contest

The Bayucaraka team from the Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) has secured a silver medal in the 2024 Singapore Amazing Flying Machine Competition (SAFMC), showcasing their innovative aerial robotic technologies.

The competition, recognized as Singapore’s largest robotics contest, saw the ITS team excel in both Semi-Autonomous (D1) and Autonomous (D2) categories, employing advanced drones that demonstrated significant technological advancements.

The Bayucaraka team participated with their Vertical Take Off and Landing (VTOL) division, facing intense competition across eight different categories available in the competition.

Their entry included the twin drones Jati Sigma and Jati Theta, equipped with innovative remote wearable technology and tilt sensors, allowing simultaneous control over both drones.

In the Semi-Autonomous category, the team confronted the challenge of remote drone navigation to complete a tic-tac-toe game by transporting and accurately dropping objects within the game area.

For the Autonomous category, the drones Soerongarep and Soeromburi were tasked with autonomously navigating and executing tasks, such as moving objects with a dropper, showcasing their sophisticated programming and operational capabilities.
