Batam, a burgeoning economic hub in Indonesia, has exceeded its 2023 domestic investment target of Rp5.05 trillion, reaching Rp5.18 trillion by the third quarter, propelled by its strategic location and robust infrastructure.

Reza Khadafi, Head of Batam’s Investment and One-Stop Service Agency (DPM-PTSP), highlighted the city’s surpassing investment targets and emphasized the potential growth in the food and beverage sector due to Batam’s advantageous geographical location and continuous infrastructural advancements.

Batam’s domestic investment for 2023, initially set at Rp5.05 trillion, has impressively reached Rp5.18 trillion by the third quarter, signaling a positive economic trend.

The city’s investment growth is primarily driven by sectors like property, construction services, and increasingly, the food and beverage industry.

With cumulative contributions of 79.91% (Rp12.7 trillion) to the total investment in the Riau Islands Province, Batam stands as a significant contributor to regional economic development.
