Indonesia Launches Anti-Fraud Online Portal

The Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of Indonesia launches AduanNomor.id to combat the surge in online scams.

Director-General Wayan Toni Supriyanto of Kominfo reveals a community-involved strategy to report suspicious numbers used in frauds.

Public can report fraudulent numbers for online scams, gambling, and spam to the AduanNomor.id website.

Confirmed reports lead to number blocking by operators, with monthly reports to Kominfo.

The verification and blocking process of reported numbers takes up to 24 hours.

From August to mid-November 2023, Kominfo received 958 reports of phone and SMS abuse for online fraud.

Kominfo also offers AduanKonten.id for reporting fraudulent content and CekRekening.id for checking and reporting fraudulent bank accounts.

Kominfo’s initiatives provide a proactive platform for Indonesians and international visitors to report and combat online fraud.

Indonesia’s Kominfo has established AduanNomor.id, empowering citizens to take action against online scams and protect the digital ecosystem.
