Batam has seen a significant influx of Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) in Q3 of 2023, with Singapore leading the charge, reinforcing Batam’s position as a strategic investment destination.

The Batam Authority (BP Batam) has recorded an impressive FDI of USD 82 million from Singapore, marking a continued trend of investment dominance in the region, with substantial contributions from other Asian and European countries.

Singapore’s investment of USD 82 million across 541 projects tops the FDI list in Batam, surpassing China, Japan, France, and Malaysia for Q3 2023.

China and Japan followed with significant investments totaling USD 27.8 million and USD 16.76 million, respectively, highlighting Asia’s strong economic presence in Batam.

European countries like France and Luxembourg also made their mark, with investments reaching USD 6 million and USD 10 million, respectively, showcasing Batam’s global investment appeal.

The strategic policies implemented by BP Batam’s Head, Muhammad Rudi, have been instrumental in providing ease and comfort to investors, fostering a business-friendly environment.
