In a recent act of solidarity, the Aliansi Batam Peduli Palestina organized a fundraiser titled “1 Billion for Palestine” at the Masjid Bukit Indah Sukajadi in Batam, raising a significant Rp630 million.
The Aliansi Batam Peduli Palestina took a step to gather financial aid for Palestine. The fundraising event was hosted at Masjid Bukit Indah Sukajadi in Batam on the morning of 29th October.
A whopping Rp630 million was raised during this event, with donations coming from various Islamic organizations and members of the Batam community. Donations were not just in rupiah, but also in Singapore dollars and Malaysian ringgit.
The fundraising event started after the Fajr (Subuh) prayer, and a religious lecture by Ustad Abdul Somad. It was attended by hundreds of devotees and locals.

Ikro Bismitama, Coordinator of Aliansi Batam Peduli Palestina, stated that the collected funds would be channeled to Palestine through the Lembaga Amil Zakat (LAZ) or other organizations that have previously sent aid directly to Palestine and are legally recognized.
Despite already raising Rp630 million, the fundraising efforts are ongoing, with volunteers continually collecting more funds for the cause.
The details of the next fundraising activity are yet to be decided, but the efforts are ongoing, added Ikro.
The substantial funds raised in Batam reflect the strong sense of community and support for international causes. For Singaporeans and international visitors, this showcases Batam’s active participation in global humanitarian efforts and its close-knit communal spirit.
